July 31 – August 6, 2020

There is no other golf championship in Canada with a richer history than the Canadian Amateur Championship. Since its first year in 1895, the player field for this event has grown to 240 competitors and is open to all Canadian and international players. This is the third oldest amateur championship in the world. The 2020 event will be the first year all players will compete at one club – providing unparalleled exposure for sponsors.

Among the Canadian legends that have won the national Amateur championship are Moe Norman (twice), Nick Weslock (four times), Gary Cowan and Doug Roxburgh (four times). Incidentally, all four golfers are enshrined in the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. In addition to those golfing greats, Richard Scott won an incredible third title in four years back in 2006! The tournament champion wins the coveted Earl Grey Cup and receives a spot in the RBC Canadian Open.

The Glencoe Golf & Country Club

Since 1984, The Glencoe Golf & Country Club has welcomed all generations of golfers to enjoy our world class practice facility, 45-holes of varied golf terrain and all of the amenities and unique events we offer throughout the season. While throughout our history, we have been host to many local, provincial and national tournaments, this will be our first time hosting the prestigious Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship.

Competitors will play both The Forest and The Meadows courses. The Forest hosts The Glencoe Invitational every year (2nd highest Canadian ranked tournament) and is consistently ranked in the top 100 best courses in Canada by SCOREGolf! The Meadows course has an interesting and more elevated terrain that will challenge beginners and experienced players alike.
